    Family means one’s sources, their origin; it is a generation of people with common interests, common activity, people who are respectable and helpful to each other.

    Family is your first life experience your first “lessons” in the native language acquiring.

    Family- focused Education Technology determines moral and psychological climate of the educational institution.

    Lyceum activities concentrate on:

    •  Providing physical, mental and intellectual development of a personality;

    •  Priority of humane aims in education;  harmonious unity  of a personality, nature, and the Universe;

    • National identity priority;

    • Cultivating of the lyceum students’ personal responsibility for preserving national identity;

    • Unity of personal interests and national priorities;

    • Elaboration of the effective upbringing criteria.

    The experiment is aimed at:

    • Creation of the Lyceum-Family concept based on the Ukrainian  Studies philosophy;

    • Effective educational methods introduction and application with the purpose of moulding a nationally conscious,  intellectual personality with active social position;

    • Realising harmonious and fruitful relations of  the pupils, familyand teachers;

    • Foundation of the Lyceum-Family scientific-philosophical centre.

    The core of the national education system is Ukrainian Studies.

    Successful development and application of the Lyceum-Family system has resulted in the creation of the unique family atmosphere. The cooperation with thestudents’ parents covers the following aspects and directions:

    •  Psychological and pedagogical assistance provided for the parents;

    • “Family Meetings” Club;

    •  Agreements on collaboration between the Lyceum managers and the families;

    • Development of students’ skills and abilities of self-directed  learning;

    •  “A healthy family with a successful child” project;

    • Regular Teacher-Parent meetings;

    • Seminars for parents :

    • Psychological characteristics and age peculiarities of adolescents;

    • Factors determining positive  personality development;

    •  The role of family traditions in forming civil and national outlook of a personality;

    • Communication patterns and styles

    • The Lyceum Guardian Board;

    •  Collaboration with the Institute of Ukrainian Studies and Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University (Humanities Departments), Language institute of National Academy of Sciences, Literature Institute, numerous museums, resource  and culture centres of Ukraine.
