STUDENT
RESEARCH CONTEST
1.Student
research contest is held by Ukrainian Humanities Lyceum
of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University and
Scientific Research Institute for Ukrainian Studies.
2.The
objectives of the contest are:
·To
assist in the development of students' scientific and
research ability
·To
excite students to science as a field of study and a
career
·To
encourage the adoption of ethical and humanities
attitudes
·To give
students experience in using career information
resources and planning their vocational future
·To
stimulate student interest in research work and career
opportunities by awarding scholarships to the contest
winners
3.The
contest is held annually in May-June at the Lyceum and
University departments
4.Each
student’s research paper is evaluated by a panel of
judges consisting of the university lectures, lyceum
teachers and members of the university student learned
society
5.Students’
research papers are examined and placed into one of the
following categories: Ukrainian history, politics,
philosophy, economics, philology, international
relationships, etc.
6.The
following criteria are used in judging student research
projects: originality, organization, clarity,
completeness, logical consistency, good scientific
practices, proper scientific language usage, neatness.
7.Students’
presentations are to meet the following criteria:
organization, clarity, proper paper format, use of
visual aids, interacting ability
8.The
judging committee works in sections according to the
specialization of the paper. The first prize winners are
awarded scholarships of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National
University and Scientific Research Institute for
Ukrainian Studies:

Ukrainian
literature –scholarship in the name of Serhiy Yefremov
Ukrainian
Studies – Ukrainian Studies Institute scholarship
History
–scholarship in the name of Mykola Chmykhov
Philosophy –scholarship in the name of Mykola Tarasenko
Economics
–scholarship in the name of Lidia Kukharekno
Law
–scholarship in the name of Bohdan Kistyakivskiy
Journalism –scholarship in the name of Vasyl Symonenko
Psychology –scholarship in the name of Volodymyr
Romenets
Foreign
Languages –scholarship in the name of Yuriy Zhluktenko
International law –scholarship in the name of Heorhiy
Matveyev
International relationships –scholarship in the name of
Petro Udovychnko
International economic relationships –scholarship in the

The 2nd
and 3rd prize winners are awarded the
