Cherishing a gifted creative personality
is the core of the Lyceum educational concept. Therefore,
creating conditions favourable for the highest possible
development of every student is among basic tasks of the
Lyceum teachers. Students’ scientific search is realized
in the form of individual scientific projects. Mastering
scientific research methods is carried out on the basis
of a certain selected subject. Students’ scientific
research activity consists of determination of a
scientific problem, its thorough research, getting
scientifically valid, practically oriented results and
conclusions with their subsequent presentation at
scientific conferences of different levels.
The guidance of the Lyceum
students’ scientific search is of a multilevel
character.
With the purpose of
organization and guidance of students’ scientific
research activity there has been established a
scientific society “Lytseist” (The Lyceum Student).
It is a voluntary organization which acts according to
the Statute adopted in 1999/2000 academic year. The
scientific society unites students who aim to perfect
their knowledge in a certain branch of science, develop
their intellect and acquire scientific research skills
and abilities.
In accordance with the
Statute the highest body of the scientific society
guidance is the General Meeting. The Lyceum scientific
society is run by its head and a leading group elected
on a General Meeting. Every necessary assistance is
provided by the head of the laboratory of the Humanities
contents and innovations whose responsibility is to
co-ordinate scientific research guidance.
The Lyceum educational
process consists of the profound study of various
educational disciplines as well as optional subjects
chosen by the students. It enables students to develop
their abilities to work with scientific literature,
master fundamentals of library and bibliographic skills
and extend their subject knowledge according to a
selected specialization such as archaeology of Ukraine,
museum management skills, history of religion,
linguistics, history of philosophy, economics, etc.
In 1999/2000 academic year
there was created Parents' Academy “Naukovetsj” (Research
Worker) which assists in the individual guidance of
the students’ scientific projects. Members of the
Parents’ Academy supervise all stages of the students’
research activity, carrying out profound scientific and
methodical training of the Lyceum students, conducting
seminars and lectures. Parents’ Academy coordination in
carried out by the head of the laboratory of the
Humanities contents and innovations.
Presentation of the
students’ scientific works is carried out at the
following stages: Lyceum, district, city and
All-Ukrainian students’ scientific conferences.
Thus, students’ scientific
search guidance is realized in the following structure:
“Students - Teachers – Parents”. Such model proves to be
highly successful as it provides the development of the
Lyceum students’ creative capabilities, mastering
technologies of research activities and ensures
continuity of education in the “Lyceum – University”
system.
